About Our Orlando Office

Local roots in Central Florida’s immigrant communities

Our Orlando office sits in the Hunters Creek area of South Orlando, just off John Young Parkway and minutes from Florida's Turnpike. It was a deliberate choice. Florida is home to one of the largest immigrant populations in the United States, and the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metro is a major destination for Cuban, Venezuelan, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, and Haitian families.

We chose this location so that clients driving from Kissimmee, Davenport, Clermont, or even the Brevard coast can reach us without fighting traffic into downtown. From Orlando International Airport (MCO) the office is about 20 minutes by car; from downtown Orlando about 18 minutes; from the Walt Disney World area roughly 15 minutes; and from Universal Orlando about 20 minutes.

USCIS Near You

USCIS Orlando Field Office

Most adjustment-of-status interviews, naturalization (N-400) interviews, and biometrics appointments for Central Florida residents are scheduled at the Orlando Field Office. It is located south of the airport, near Tradeport Drive in the Lee Vista business district.

What happens there: Biometrics capture (fingerprints, photo, signature), green card interviews, citizenship interviews and civics exams, and InfoPass-style appointments scheduled through the USCIS Contact Center.

What to expect: Recent processing times at the Orlando Field Office for naturalization interviews have ranged from roughly 8 to 14 months from filing, with biometrics typically scheduled within 2 to 6 weeks of receipt. We help clients prepare for the substantive interview, not just check the paperwork boxes.

EOIR - Removal Proceedings

If you are in deportation proceedings

If you have been served a Notice to Appear (NTA), your case will likely be heard before an immigration judge at the Orlando Immigration Court on Lawton Road. Removal proceedings in Orlando typically span 2 to 5 years from first master calendar to a final individual hearing, depending on the judge’s docket and the complexity of the relief you are seeking.

Common defenses we present here include asylum and withholding of removal, cancellation of removal for non-permanent residents (10-year cancellation), cancellation for lawful permanent residents, adjustment of status as a defense, and U and T visa requests for crime and trafficking victims.

If your spouse, parent, or child has been detained by ICE in the Orlando area, call us immediately. Bond hearings move quickly and the first 48 hours of representation often decide the outcome.

Why Local Matters

Why work with a local Orlando immigration attorney

Immigration law is federal, which means you do not technically need a Florida-licensed lawyer. But the practical reality of running an immigration case in Orlando is intensely local. The adjudicators at the Orlando Field Office, the judges at the Orlando Immigration Court, the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations team based out of Orlando, and even the Florida State Bar grievance process are all people and systems we deal with every week.

In-person interview support

We attend USCIS and EOIR appearances with you. No phone-in, no “you’ll be fine, just relax.” Real presence in the room.

Local intelligence

We know which Orlando judges grant continuances, which officers focus on which issues, and how local processing trends compare to USCIS national averages.

Language match

Spanish-, Portuguese-, French-, and Haitian Creole-speaking staff so you can describe your case the way you actually think about it.

Document drop-off

Bring originals to our Hunters Creek office, scan, and walk out with everything you arrived with. No mailing critical paperwork into the void.

Frequently Asked

Orlando immigration questions, answered

Questions we hear most often from clients across Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Polk, Brevard, and Volusia counties.

How long does an interview at the Orlando USCIS Field Office take? +

Most interviews at the Orlando USCIS Field Office on Tradeport Drive last between 20 and 45 minutes, though complex marriage-based or naturalization interviews can extend past an hour. Plan to arrive 30 minutes early for security screening, and bring your appointment notice, government-issued ID, and the originals of every document referenced in your petition. We accompany our Orlando clients to interviews whenever the case warrants it.

Can I have my consultation in Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole? +

Yes. Our Orlando team provides consultations in English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazilian and European), Haitian Creole, and French. Central Florida is home to large Cuban, Venezuelan, Mexican, Puerto Rican, Brazilian, and Haitian communities, and we believe immigration counsel only works when you can speak openly about your case in your strongest language.

Do I need a Florida-licensed attorney to handle my immigration case? +

No. Immigration law is federal, so any attorney admitted to a U.S. state bar in good standing may represent clients before USCIS, ICE, and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) nationwide. That said, working with a firm physically located in Orlando matters: we attend in-person interviews at the Orlando Field Office, master calendar and individual hearings at the Orlando Immigration Court, and we know the local adjudicators and court clerks our clients will face.

Where is the Orlando Immigration Court, and what kind of cases are heard there? +

The Orlando Immigration Court is located at 3535 Lawton Road, Orlando, Florida. It hears removal (deportation) proceedings, applications for cancellation of removal, asylum defensively raised in court, bond hearings for detained respondents, and motions to reopen or reconsider. If you have been issued a Notice to Appear (NTA), your hearings will likely be scheduled here unless you reside outside the court's geographic jurisdiction.

What languages does Claxton Law's Orlando team speak? +

English, Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and French. We chose to staff the Orlando office this way because Central Florida's immigrant population reflects the broader Caribbean and Latin American region. If you need an interpreter for another language, we will arrange one for your consultation.

Do you offer free initial consultations in Orlando? +

Yes. We offer a complimentary initial consultation for new immigration matters at our Orlando office in Hunters Creek. The consultation lets us understand your immigration history, review any prior filings or court documents, and recommend a realistic strategy. You can book by phone at (321) 204-4116, by WhatsApp, by email, or through the form on this page.

How quickly can I get a consultation at the Orlando office? +

Most new clients can be seen within a few business days. If you have an emergency, such as a detained family member, an upcoming court date, or an imminent USCIS deadline, call us right away and tell the intake team it is urgent. We routinely accommodate same-week or same-day appointments for time-sensitive matters.
